Most people equate leadership with
a misconstrued perception of authority. Authority
is an inside job. When you are in touch with your
true authentic authority, people will naturally
follow you.
The primary error most "weak" leaders
make is leading by fear. Fear is a losing proposal.
Many bosses attempt to motivate people by criticizing
them or threatening to fire them.
Negative motivation doesn't work and it will always
lead to ineffectiveness. Incentives are important
tools but they are only part of the equation. In
fact, studies have shown that money, considered
by most people to be the primary motivator, ranks
far behind other motivating factors such as having
a sense of purpose, a sense of belonging, positive
affirmation etc... Leaders today must lead from
a different paradigm. |

lifting, but it has the potential to gift us parents
